New York Vacations—Must-Sees

New York isn’t really the place to go if you want a vacation that takes you off the beaten path. Of course, there are plenty of unique and interesting sights to take in that not everyone knows about—but if you’re a first timer, you really should get down with your touristy self and check some things off your list. Here are a few of the most frequently visited spots for New York vacations.

  • The Statue of Liberty: This long standing beacon of freedom can be reached by ferry seven days a week. It costs a few dollars extra to gain access to the top of Lady Liberty, so don’t forget to bring enough cash to make your visit complete.
  • Site of the World Trade Center: Even though completion of the reconstruction of the site where the World Trade Center once stood is still years away, the spot has become a major pilgrimage point for people who want to pay their respects to the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
  • The Empire State Building: Now the tallest building in New York City, the Empire State Building is one of the most iconic skyscrapers in the world. The ticket lines are always long, but you can cut some serious wait time by getting your tickets online ahead of time.
