Disney World Vacation Transportation Guide

Before you embark on your Walt Disney World vacation, find out how to get where you’re going. Here are the basic modes of transportation on the Disney property.

Official Disney Transportation
If you’re staying in one of the Disney World vacation resorts or hotels, transportation is included in your stay. Depending on the resort, this could include the monorail, a ferry, or a bus. The monorail runs through a few of the resorts, including The Contemporary and The Polynesian. Waterfront resorts like the Disney's Beach Club Resort and Fort Wilderness feature water taxis.

Disney Parking Lots
Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom have their own parking lots. If you’re traveling to the Magic Kingdom, you’ll have to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Once you’ve parked, you can board a monorail or the big ferryboat over to the Magic Kingdom.

The Disney water parks, Downtown Disney, and Disney’s Boardwalk have their own parking lots. Parking at Downtown Disney and Disney’s Boardwalk is free.

Park Hopping
If you’re traveling from park to park in one day, consider leaving your car. While you can jump from parking lot to parking lot without having to pay for parking again, it’s often quicker to just use the monorail or the Disney bus system.
